This section provides forward-looking numbers for a particular stock. Estimates are aggregated from multiple (and reputed) sell-side research analysts and provide a comprehensive summary of the “street’s” view on the stock. The module is divided into the following sections:
Analysts provide ratings on stocks that generally look like Buy, Overweight, Neutral, Underweight, and Sell. You can view the breakup of ratings for any stock in this section.
Analysts also put out a target price for the stock – their estimate of what the fair value of the stock should be in 12 months. In this section, you can see details of the target price including median (consensus), highest and lowest target price along with potential upside from the current market price.
This section provides EPS, BPS, and Sales forecast for the next 2 financial years. We show high, low, and median forecasts along with the growth from the last reported financial year. Users can switch tabs to change the view between the available options.
Many expert investors track how the consensus (we use the median for consensus) estimates have changed in the last 12 months. This gives them an idea of earnings momentum. If the earnings have been constantly upgraded (revised upwards), it is considered a good sign for subsequent performance. Similarly, if the earnings have been downgraded, it is considered a bad sign.
In this section, users can easily see how the consensus EPS estimate for a stock has changed over the last 12 months. Using the dropdown on the right, you can change between the next financial year’s EPS and the next to next financial year's EPS.
Similarly, you can see the data for the BPS, Sales, and Target Price as well.
