Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals has approved phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid plants at its Sikka unit in Jamnagar with capacities of 600 metric tonnes per day and 1,800 metric tonnes per day respectively, as part of its backward integration roadmap.

Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals is seeking Indian and overseas companies, investors and consortiums as joint venture partners to develop a green ammonia plant of at least 500,000 tonnes per year at Sikka in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The proposed venture would require 2-3 gigawatts of solar and wind power to produce 90,000-100,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for ammonia manufacturing, with commissioning targeted before December 2030 and GSFC holding up to 51% equity.
