Gujarat Energy Ltd, formerly Gujarat Gas Ltd, will receive a one-time additional allocation of 200 scm of cheaper APM gas for each new domestic PNG customer under the central government's six-month scheme starting 1 September. Nomura estimates a surplus of 69 scm per customer based on FY26 consumption. The company, which spans gas trading and city gas distribution, reported Q1FY27 Ebitda up 68% year-on-year to Rs 1,300 crore helped by trading, and its shares have lost 8.4% since 16 July after the demerger of its transmission business, trading at about 9.5 times one-year forward earnings.

Gujarat Energy reported standalone results for the quarter ended June 2026 with net sales of Rs 9,670.26 crore, up 149.82% from Rs 3,870.89 crore in June 2025, and net profit of Rs 997.97 crore, up 205.4% from Rs 326.77 crore. The company posted EBITDA of Rs 1,482.17 crore, up 155.89% from Rs 579.23 crore, and EPS of Rs 10.64 compared to Rs 4.75 a year earlier.
