Indian Energy Exchange Limited recorded a 10.4% year-on-year rise in electricity trading volumes in September 2026 and 12.7% growth in Q2FY27, with total volumes including Renewable Energy Certificates up nearly 9% in September and around 4% for the quarter, according to Nuvama Institutional Equities. Tight supply pushed September prices to Rs 5.6 per unit in solar hours and Rs 9.5 per unit in non-solar hours from Rs 3.2 per unit a year earlier, with quarterly solar-hour prices averaging around Rs 3.8 per kWh. Nuvama expects Indian Energy Exchange Limited to post moderate growth with overall volume rising merely 4% in Q2FY27.

Indian Energy Exchange, which holds a 47.28% stake in Indian Gas Exchange, will be the selling shareholder in Indian Gas Exchange's SEBI-cleared offer for sale of 1.67 crore equity shares. As the IPO is entirely an offer for sale, the net proceeds will go to Indian Energy Exchange.
