Consumer giants' forex earnings shine despite gobal woes
LG Electronics India Limited said it will continue to expand exports by adding new geographies and product categories to benefit margins amid rupee depreciation and rising input costs, while raising localisation by 1-2 percentage points every year. LG Electronics India Limited was included in an ET study of 20 companies whose combined export forex earnings grew 29% in FY26 to exceed Rs 1,08,269 crore, turning net forex positive.

LG Electronics India Limited told shareholders at its first post-listing AGM that it is pursuing a 'Make in India for the world' strategy, already exporting Made in India products to over 50 countries and targeting 22 countries for Essential series exports by calendar year 2026, backed by a Rs 5,000 crore investment in its Sri City factory that will serve as an export hub and begin operations by December 2026, with premium products aimed at advanced markets and Essential series at emerging markets.

LG Electronics India Ltd raised prices by a cumulative 16-17% in two rounds during April-June (Q1FY27) across its portfolio amid higher raw material costs, with copper up about 45% and aluminium about 25%. Its director Sanjay Chitkara said a Diwali in November gives a larger September to mid-November promotional window that has historically helped the festive season outperform.
