Multi Commodity Exchange of India recorded a 15% sequential rise in average daily premium turnover in metals and energy options in the September quarter, with options turnover climbing to Rs 10,450 crore supported by sharp moves in crude oil and natural gas prices.

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited reported a 15% quarter-on-quarter rise in average daily premium turnover of metals and energy options to Rs 10,450 crore in the September quarter, as retail traders shifted from equity index options amid higher crude, gas and bullion volatility and lower commodity transaction tax. The exchange said clients trading on MCX nearly doubled to 13.72 lakh in Q1 FY27 from 7.03 lakh a year earlier.
