PNC Infratech Limited constructed the Rs 4,200-crore, 63-km Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, inaugurated July 13, which developed cracks, erosion, surface slippage at multiple points weeks later due to poor sand compaction from monsoon rains. Traffic diverted on 7-8 km stretch; repairs and maintenance to continue for three months. NHAI barred company's project manager and two engineers from future projects for two years; company instructed to inspect full stretch. Probe into damage ongoing.
