PVR INOX Limited recorded more than 1.5 million admissions for Awarapan 2 at around 45% occupancy, according to CEO d Revenue & Operations Gautam Dutta, as the film expanded to 11,013 shows. PVR INOX Limited also disclosed in its FY26 annual report that the share of films grossing Rs 100-200 crore rose to 20% from 12%, indicating reduced dependence on mega blockbusters amid the mid-budget resurgence.

PVR INOX Limited reported Q1FY27 revenue of Rs1,642 crore, up 12% YoY, with EBITDA nearly doubling to Rs230 crore at 14% margin and profit after tax of Rs71 crore versus a loss of Rs34 crore in Q1FY26. The multiplex operator said India's box office grew 20% YoY in the quarter and cited a strong FY27 content pipeline. Following the results, its shares hit Rs1,226.70 on Tuesday and traded at Rs1,217.90, near the 52-week high of Rs1,249. Motilal Oswal Financial Services and JM Financial Institutional Securities noted the recovery, cost discipline and premium format skew, while flagging sensitivity to occupancy and revising estimates and target price of Rs1,220.
