Tata Communications Ltd sees a $1 billion revenue opportunity from data centres, with chief executive Ganesh Lakshminarayanan telling Mint on 29 July that data centres could present that scale of opportunity for the network infrastructure provider amid India's AI capacity build-out.

Tata Communications Limited has called on the government to base the proposed sovereign cloud framework on data sensitivity and criticality rather than data residency alone, assessing technology ownership, operations and control plane. Executive Vice-President Vivek Srivastava said sovereign infrastructure for India should have no component controlled from a foreign jurisdiction and not every government workload needs sovereign infrastructure. The company said its government community cloud is used by around 125 central government ministries and it participates in ministry discussions on cloud requirements.

Tata Communications announced a total dividend of Rs 17.50 per share for FY26, structured entirely as a final dividend.

Tata Communications Limited offers Factory 360, which combines data from sensors, applications and factory control systems with connectivity and AI tools to identify bottlenecks, detect anomaly signals before breakdowns, improve efficiency and safety, and has shown throughput gains of 30% to 200% in some cases, according to its Internet of Things vice president Praveen Arora.

Tata Communications Limited has partnered with Air India Limited to develop and support the EasyRoam international travel SIM service. Tata Communications said its partnerships with more than 600 mobile network operators support connectivity across international destinations, with customers able to select and activate plans before departure.
