Axis SIP Calculator

Plan a SIP in Axis Mutual Fund schemes. Project the value of a monthly SIP at your expected return, then compare it with the actual SIP returns of Axis Bluechip Fund, Axis Midcap Fund, Axis ELSS Tax Saver Fund and other Axis Mutual Fund funds, computed from their real NAV history.

  • 120 instalments of ₹5,000 compounded monthly at 12% p.a.

Projections assume returns compound monthly at the rate you choose (default 12% p.a., a long-run equity assumption — not a guarantee). Check the "real fund returns" section to compare with actual NAV history.

Check against real Axis Mutual Fund returns

The projection above assumes a constant return. Below is what Axis Mutual Fund's schemes actually delivered using their NAV history — and you can run the same calculation on any fund.

How the Axis SIP Calculator works

A SIP invests a fixed amount at a fixed interval — usually monthly — into a mutual fund. Each instalment buys units at that day's NAV, so you automatically buy more units when prices are low and fewer when they are high (rupee-cost averaging).

The calculator treats every instalment as invested at the start of the month and compounds it monthly at your expected annual return. The "estimated returns" tile is the difference between the final value and the total you put in.

Real fund returns are never a straight line. Use the expected-return slider to stress-test: at 10% instead of 12%, a 20-year SIP ends up roughly 25% smaller.

FV = P × [ ((1 + i)^n − 1) / i ] × (1 + i)
P
monthly SIP amount
i
monthly rate = annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100
n
number of monthly instalments (years × 12)
FV
future value at the end of the tenure

Worked example

  • Monthly investment: ₹5,000
  • Expected return (p.a.): 12%
  • Time period: 10 Yr

Investing ₹5,000 every month for 10 years puts in ₹6,00,000 in total. At 12% p.a. compounded monthly (i = 1%, n = 120) the SIP grows to about ₹11.6 lakh — roughly ₹5.6 lakh of that is return on your money, and the last three years alone add more than the first five, which is compounding at work.
