Aurobindo Pharma Limited has launched ADQUEY (difamilast 1 percent) ointment in the US through its step-down subsidiary Acrotech Biopharma and created a dedicated dermatology division for sales, marketing and physician engagement. The non-steroidal treatment for mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis, licensed from Japan's Otsuka Pharmaceutical, will compete in a US market estimated at about $1.3 billion and was cited by an analyst as having potential to generate $200-$300 million over 3-4 years. Brokerage JM Financial noted Aurobindo Pharma is pursuing nine to ten opportunities across respiratory and dermatology as specialty medicines become a key growth pillar.
