Biocon Limited reached a global patent settlement with Genentech, part of the Roche group, resolving disputes over Pebrilzo, its proposed biosimilar to Perjeta. The deal permits launch in the European Union and United Kingdom from the first quarter of 2027, in the United States from the third quarter of 2028 subject to approvals, and in other markets between 2026 and 2028. Biocon Limited also received a September 2026 European CHMP recommendation for Pebrilzo and holds a long-term pertuzumab supply contract in Brazil, though future revenue will depend on approvals and competition.

Biocon Limited has advanced an anti-cancer drug to Phase III clinical trials, as disclosed by chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw while calling for Indian pharma to overcome risk aversion, use digital technology and conduct more animal studies in India to replenish innovation pipelines.
