Indian Bank said its gold loan portfolio, currently around Rs 1.25 lakh crore, is expected to exceed Rs 1.5 lakh crore by FY27-end on about 20% growth driven by tonnage, according to MD and CEO Binod Kumar. The bank reported 30% growth last year aided by higher gold prices and expects slower growth this year amid a 30% decline in prices. Indian Bank also said RAM (Retail, Agriculture and MSME) is 65% of its loan book, CASA grew 15.30% in Q1 with CASA at around 40% of deposits, it raised USD 400 million via bonds from its GIFT City branch toward a USD 1 billion overseas target by end-2026, and has raised USD 1.5 billion in FCNR(B) deposits targeting USD 2 billion by August 31.

Indian Bank offered bad loans with Rs15,880 crore principal outstanding in the June quarter, with Rs15,730 crore of the pool representing repeat sale attempts, accounting with Indian Overseas Bank for nearly 89% of repeatedly offered public sector bank loans.
